Interesting dog colour!

Dogs Blog is my guilty pleasure and today whilst scrolling through I saw this http://www.dogsblog.com/orion/ praying link works!!

Would an amazing coat! I've never seen anything like it-you could almost think it may be medical?
Which leads mean on to say.. does anyone have pics of unusual dog coats? I would love to see

My guess would be scarring. Possibly from a flea infestation.
I have never seen it across the whole body but have seen similar patches on dogs.

I've come across a couple of greyhound with that colour in the past, but I have no idea what it's called.

I've met a few greyhounds like that at dog shows - their coat looks like the night sky. It's one of my favourite greyhound colours.

There's a greyhound round here that colour. It's lovely! No idea what causes it though!

A friend of mine had a Lakeland x Beagle that had spots all over her. When she collected her from the breeder she was covered in ticks and the vet said that's what caused the white spots.

Aren't they wonderful?! I have one at work, I call them ''snowflake dogs''. The one at work is called Percy, and there's one I've seen at the track, who has really large ''flakes''.

Seen a couple of greyhounds with snowflakes (mainly black, blue and a brindle) though amount varies. http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?z=CU4097&d=lethal+goodfellow&sex=&color=&birthyear=&birthland= Leathal Goodfellow is very striking though most are more like Orion, officially they don't note the ticking so are down as main colour . Its uncommon in US so think it's come from irish breeding.
