'Interesting' link ... Breaking a horse to harness

Not at all sure what putting a plastic bag on a horse's head teaches it!

I think they're trying to teach it not to panic. There's a comment underneath saying a bag wrapped itself round a driven horse's head once, so I guess they are trying to prepare them for every eventuality.

Possibly but as the owner of a ex- professional CDE horse I suspect all hell would break loose if I tried that with my lad.

I thought it was very interesting. Many horses could benefit from some of those experiences. The driven pair with the lorry touching the horses side as it edged past - wow!!! And how many horses freak if something touches their hind quarters when ridden?!?!

Much of the blinkers are effectively blinding the horses to what they can see and the obstacles so they are obviously placing a lot of trust in their driver / handler.

quite impressive but horses must have been bombproof to start with, I am being taught now with my 16.2 IDx but one rule thats beeing drummed into me is never go out on your own, and in nearly all these clips the driver is solo!!!

Haven't watched it recently. But have before. Don't forget the camera person will be on the carriage too.
