Went to catch Blue in the back field having previously been warned there was a random mare and foal in there... so there was! Walked quickly round the fencing to see how they got in, couldn't see any gaps... had quick look at them both, mare was very skinny with some nasty cuts and swollen bits down her front legs - looked like she had broken through the fence, she also had dried blood down her back legs which turned out came from a cut under her tail.

Couldn't do anything bout her at that stage so rode Blue and waited for B to get back, turned Blue out and went over to catch the mare to put her in a field on her own as the others were bullying her as B appeared, he (luckily!) knew who she belonged to and so the vet was called to help clean her up a bit.

Felt a bit sorry for her

Still cannot for the life of me see how she and her foal got through the fence!

The fence between our field and where she came from is sheep wire with barbed wire along the top (i know shoot me now the rest of the fencing in all the other fields is post and rail but this isn't our fence and they won't pay to replace it) and although its saggy in places there's no obvious place she and the foal got through, walked all along it 3 times and am pretty baffled?!
