Ok well today went and got pickles medication. He was given aloe vera gel (100ml a day) then interferon (10ml a day) and one other thing I cannot for the life of me remember the name a brown liquid!

Anyway I know aloe vera gel is supposed to help a horses exercise tolerance and joints, but what is interferon for???

Interferons are things released by the immune system to help combat infections.
No idea what this medication is but interferons can be used to treat kidney and liver problems.

ah and as he has a low blood cell count this medication is likely to be do with his immune system it would make sense

I work in a large cat sanctury (250 cats!) and we use interferon quite a bit although it tends to be very expensive and all the vets we work with (8 in total) do not believe it makes any difference if given oraly only if injected. are you giving it to him into his mouth or injecting it daily?

not injecting it, I am just going to take my vets advise on this one though, she knows pickle incredibly well and they have always been brilliant
