For anybody that is interested in saddles and the role that they play, the Saddle Research Trust have organised a conference (''Bringing Science to Saddles'' - http://www.saddleresearchgroup.co.uk...alworkshop.htm ) with internationally renowned guest speakers including Hilary Clayton and Lars Roepstorff.

They will cover all sorts of subjects on the interaction between horse, saddle and rider. It's being held at Anglia Ruskin Uni, Cambridge.

Looks like a very interesting opportunity for anybody that would like to learn more on this subject, directly from high calibre industry experts!

Tickets now available for anybody that is interested.

I understand the Saddle Research Trust welcomes ANY saddle makers who wish to take part in ground breaking testing methods, or become research associates. Hopefully, many more respected companies will be open to independent scientific studies and aim for better understanding, welfare and performance - that is the whole point!

The International Saddle Conference sounds like a very positive step!:)

If I can find the money I would consider going, but I'm wary of paying that much to be lectured at about treeless saddles. I understand they are asking for other saddle makers and fitters to get involved but it would be nice if they actually invited some, then we can all know they are serious about it being solely about what is best for the horse.

It looks as though the detals on the website have been updated and Sue Carson is one of the sponsors so a treed saddle manufacturer has got involved. More speakers have been announced and nowhere does it suggest that attendees will be lectured at about treeless saddles - TBH with the calibre of speakers as they are, I would be highly surprised to find them lecturing about treeless saddles.

It seems to be a fairly comprehensive programme!
