I am trying to organise transport for two horses from Scotland to Colorado in the USA. Over the past month I have contacted several transporters who have either been recommended or found on the internet. Only one (Owen Jones at Nebo Stud) has managed to keep in touch and work on getting me a door to door quote.

(I suspect I would be more popular if my journey was Newmarket to Kentucky or Kent to New York!)

If anyone would like to offer me any leads, advice, testimonials etc. from their direct experience with overseas transporters who did a great job for them, I would really appreciate it!

Hi

You could try this company http://airhorse.dk/

I have heard very good feedback about him. I have not used him myself but can put you in contact with a few people who have. I have met him & discussed transport Scotland to USA so he can do it. If you check out his reference link there is a Lisa from Dumfries who used him to move a horse to USA & writes a glowing report.

I used John Parker International to move my horse from southern italy to the UK a couple of years ago, I don't think they go to the states but they would definately be able to give a recommendation.

Pedens are the best, i've only heard good of them, prob a bit expensive though?
i'd give Ken Gamble Horse Transport (07836785301) a call, he's an old friend of mine, transports (very valuable and 'normal'!) horses all over the place, and i'm sure he'd know how to do it to there, or who you should call.
pls tell him Kerry gave you his number, if you do!

Another vote for John Parker. Have used him several times and always excellent service/care. The quarantine place I use in the US always use him and liase directly, so I would imagine he could arrange all the transport for you.

You actually need a Shipping Agent!

Either Pedens that have been mentioned or BBA Shipping or IRT

Google any of the names and their website will come up!

They will organise door to door for you.
