But it has really come to breaking point - people breeding horses no one wants And of course, breeding *****e so the horse has no chance of having a purpose
I have just read yesterday's H&H news and simply could not believe what I saw. They have allowed this problem to go on for as long that they are now considering a mass cull. What a horrendous state of affairs. Those poor horses! I am now considering giving one a home. Anybody else interested in helping?
Truly awful, so glad the foal was rescued. The situation is very much the same with dogs in Ireland, horrendous cruelty and neglect on a massive scale, what on earth is going on over there. It's time strong action was taken and the laws enforced!
The whole situation is truly horrific over here. I think the worst part is the lack of action from the ISPCA, we have reported numerous cases, and watched as horses continued to suffer and starve with no sign of any welfare inspectors. Spring 2009 we also applied to rehome 3 horses from the national animal centre and not a single phonecall in response, a friend also applied with no response, a year later and the same horses are on the website looking for homes, with comments of how over run they are. I think it's appalling that they don't do more to help. When we visited the centre, one groom was even telling us how she plans to compete on one of the rescued horses?!?!
No way can I watch that video. I understand the need for a cull and I think it's a good idea if it means an end to suffering for some horses. It's still extremely sad and could have been avoided.
