Interview with the RSPCA??

So,

Have got myself an interview for a grooms job with the RSPCA very excited.

There are two vacancies available.

The first part of the interview starts at 11.30am which takes part in the office.
Lunch is at 1:00pm then after lunch is the second part of the interview which is a practical - general handling, TRP checks etc.

I was just wondering if I will be the only one attending an interview in that day seen as it takes up nearly the whole day, or would there be a couple of us??? I was thinking it would just be me... but now I'm not so sure what do you think???

Thank you all im constantly smiling so hopefully that will go in my favour you have to show you can muck out, catch and handle a horse do trp checks and maybe lunge if there's a suitable horse there. I was going to wear my very smart grey denim breeches and white musto v neck and make sure my boots are squeaky clean will post to let you know how i get on x

Just be confident in yourself, and relax, that's the most important thing. Keep a good calm head on you, and show them what you have got to offer, which I am sure will be lots!

Would hazard a guess there will be 6 interviewees. Usually have 3 people per job to interview.

Lots of luck with it. As others said, be yourself, be heard and study the RSPCA website for their values and visions, targets, reports etc.

Good luck, it will be a distressing job as well as very rewarding one.
I would think an ability to stay calm and observant in difficult situation would be important.
I know there is a lot about the organisation on here, but when you read pages of some of the rehoming charities they often rely on RSPCA to help them with rescues. Not that I agree with some of the policies or politics of the people who head up the organisation but in my book the more people involved in helping in the current horse crisis the better.

Good luck hope you are successful, it would be a great experience for you.

I would also suggest swotting up on common problems neglected equines get, causes and treatment etc. Good luck!

Thank you for all the replies I've been doing my revision all week and found a website with RSPCA interview questions on - granted there for an inspector but I just tweeked them a little and added in some I think they might ask OH has been very helpful interviewing me

I really hope I get it, I've got loads of history with abused equines so that should hopefully go in my favour.

Don't worry I have a HUGE box of winkies and big smilies

Have also been practising my TRP checks on my old pony... don't think he's been too impressed poor thing

Anyway thanks guys will let you know how it goes on Monday even if it goes horrid and I end up failing miserably
