Does any one have a copy of the intro A test? Also any tips on riding a good test would be much appreciated (first dressage test ever!!!)

There are websites where you can download for free, or go to britishdressage.co.uk where you can buy a copy.

Tips for first test - don't panic! Be well prepared - have a caller if you think you may forget the test. The judge is not an ogre and will not be horrid to you even if you think that you were rubbish! For an intro test - just practise your transitions trot/walk walk/trot as these are the basis for this test. And smile at the judge at the end - and look like you enjoyed it! And good luck!!!

I'd PM it you but it's at the yard in my cubby hole! If somebody else hasn't beaten me to it I'll do it when I'm home later :)

Tips for riding a good test, relax and enjoy it! Pony will feel if he's suddenly got a nervous nelly on his back and he'll wonder what's going on! Lol. Remember to breathe if your nervous, sounds stupid, but holding your breath or breathing funny really has an effect on your pone!

Think about keeping a constant rythm if you can, and getting the correct bend on corners/circles/turns.

:)

That would be brill if you could send that over! thank you:) His walk to trot and trot to walk is good but its the canter transitions which aren't so good hence doing the intro :P only had him a few weeks so maybe we can progress towards prelim 7 haha :)

Good luck with the test and remember to let us know how you got on! I actually cried after doing my first test because I was so proud of my pony...what a numpty! :D

I cried too! But because i forgot my test completely and got eliminated :( on a good note, horse behaved amzingly and the comment on sheet was 'horse looked very relaxed and very willing. but have a caller next time.'

So my advice here is to have a caller, even if you can remember the test off by heart at home and in the warm up and you can say it out loud to a person and ride it etc etc, you might find that you'll forget it once you get in the ring. So if you have a caller, you can either not listen because you remember the test fine or listen because you cannot remember it at all! lol. Have fun though and we'll be waiting for a report with pictures :D
