i want to get the cheapo version for Frankie in the new year, after he's had an 'MOT' from the vet. His owner thinks that he would not take kindly to it at all (he doesn't even like his rugs being taken off, he dips his bum

) so if he really doesn't take to it is there anything else that works along the same lines as a pessoa?

thanks in advance

I just bought one from ebay for £12.95!!!! Not True pessoa but works exactly the same but 1/10th of the price.

Chi went beautifully in it last night and they give you full details when you buy it and on-line there is a video of how to fit!!

Pm me if you want the details!

They buck like stink first time on with a couple of ours!!! Never been brave enough to try it on my old boy though, don't want to die as I know he'll hate it!!! Hates stuff around his bum, use to not load and u NEVER got lunge line around him, was just dangerous!!!

mmmm yeah, i don't know how Frankie would react to it, and if he will get used to it........have heard some stories about him! *roll eyes*

Mine bucked to start with and still bucks for a while if he hasn't had it on for a while!
I'd suggest introducing it gradually if you think he will struggle. Just put the bit around his bum on to start with maybe and let him stand in it! The walk around etc. I find getting J to walk on a smaller circle around me on the lunge initially before letting him go further out/trot, helps him get used to it again. J also better with it fully on (ie connected to roller / bit etc) than if I leave it very loose - think it bounces less and allows him to work into a contact, if that makes any sense?

yes that makes sense! he is having slight muscle problems at the moment but i was thinking of getting one just so he can stand in it, then when the vet says go I'll start him off slowly in the school.

i understand what you mean about having it connected, so it doesn't bounce around as much, i have used one before just not for a while - and never on Frankie! he is a nervous wreck when it comes to his back end! will defiantly have to take it slow with him

I'd be interested in that post too. Y freaked out when I took out a pessoa. I didn't even go near him with it, just put it next to his tack. Reared up and back, broke baler twine and skittered off.
