Hi everybody, I am not a regular poster in this section but as I have just become proud mum/owner to Charlie I decided to post in here as I am sure I will need lots of advice along the way :). Charlie is an 8 month old Collie X Spaniel, my partner and I have hunted high and low for a dog like him for a while and stumbled across him on the internet several days ago. His family brought him round to us last night and it was a very difficult moment to see them say goodbye to their family pet, he was obviously well loved :(

He is a real sweetheart and they have done a good job of training him and I am excited to continue where they left off! His walking needs a lot of work as he is a real puller and very strong. I am hoping to take him to have a go at agility or flyball, being a baby collie he is definately full of beans! :D

Unfortunatly they were having to move into rented property and were unable to take him or their cat with them :( it was difficult as it was a happy occassion for my partner and I but a sad one for his old family.

He is such a happy chappie, although I am used to collies and spaniels it never ceases to amaze me how much energy they have! Just nicely got home from a long walk I am pooped and he is charging about the house after his ball  :D

Thank you for the lovely comments about him he deserves them :)

Thank you I am glad others think he is lovely too I was beginning to feel very biased indeed :D He has met most of our friends and family who have dogs and so far so good. He has certainly found his voice and has started to bark when he is left (i.e. when we go upstaires to bed) but settles down fairly quickly when he realises he is being ignored which is promising.

He is very intelligent and eager to please especially for a treat! However he has had several simple moments; he cannot firgure out staires or anything that resembles them such as foothpath styles and was very bemused by our fish tank :o

I will be taking him to meet the horses today and all being well he will be able to come to work with me (riding school) *crosses fingers*
