I found a wing out walking today! I've never been so pleased to have a dismembered body part before:D

It's mainly just the long flight feathers I have still attached to the bone - all the flesh seems to be gone, it doesn't smell either.

Sooooooo - is the drill now to attach it to a dummy, stick an old tight over the top and see how we get on?

:)

I am a terrible trainer, we never broke our dogs in gently with covering dummies! With Midget, we worked her with a puppy dummy, then adult dummy. Then M shot a pheasant and we used that to teach her feather retrieves. It only lasted a day obviously :p then she just went straight in the deep end with gonig out with Tina and picking up pigeons :D

Helpful, eh? :p :D

Thank you:) Mind you at least part of that enthusiasm came from the fact I had a packet of Fridge Raiders (horrid little reformed chicken bits that he adores) next to me - that rustle at the end of the video was him nudging the packet with the dummy, hint hint hint!:D

I am so pleased with how he's come on though:)

I think he deserves his treats :D He picked it up with no hesitation at all! Has he heard gunshot yet? I can't remember if you'd posted about that!

I am hoping to get out shooting this week with the Midget so I'll try and get pictures of her working :)

He has heard it a few times although not lately. That's the next job!

We just went out for a little chuck about and he did get a little hesitant about the feathers, although he still retrieved it with praise and encouragement. So have put the old tight leg back on for now, bu am v encouraged that he can do it:)
