Hello :) I have only used the horse side of the forum so far but have this gorgeous addition to the family so thought I would introduce her and get to know other English Springer Spaniels owners around :)

Jazz was born on the 21st Jan 2016 and here she is :)

Dad's got unusual markings: is he a mix of show/working?

Keep posting pictures, I'm a bit of a fan, got three spanners myself. :)

She is mega cute, my boy, Beans, is a year older than her. I'm planning to work him, picking up. We go gundog training which I really enjoy. He is totally driven and just a bit crazy but great fun.

I have two working Springers - 9 month old and an 18 month old. We pick up, trial and do working tests. I love them but mine are bred for trialling and are real little hot heads.

My boy is very 'hot' too. He is a challenging first gundog. Good job I'm used to stroppy young horses and kids and adults with challenging behaviour! I have been told that Rytex lines make them hot. I love the speed he processes information.

My girl is proving rather brave and although right now her puppy instinct tells her to stay close to me, in an area she knows well she can be very independent so I want to start her on obedience training asap.
She's from working lines but both parents apparently level headed so I am hoping she will be too.
I got the Total Recall book and taking through the training tasks myself for now, liking the positive reinforcement training methods as try to use that approach in my horse work too.

Never thought I would get into the whole gundog thing more seriously but find myself fascinated so will be getting involved when she is a bit older :)

Have a look at Pippa's other book the Perfect Puppy Handbook - it's very good. If you're interested in working her or just training her for working tests then find a good local gundog trainer asap as lots of things pet dogs do are out of bounds for gundogs

Aw - I love her. I don't know much about the breed, unlike so many other experts on here - but to me she looks like a real sweetie to have around. Enjoy her :)
