Ive had Bascote Lunar for 2 and a half weeks now and shes doing amazingly, just 13 months old gypsy cob and although has a sparky streak in her, she is very bold. So i thought we would go to the local riding club for a walk around.
She loaded straight in the trailer and just took 5 mins to get her feet as it was her first time tied up in the trailer like a big girl. She unloaded at the show and we spent an hour walking round and brushing her.
I decided to enter one class, the youngstock. Only two of us in it a BUT she behaved impeccably, much to my amazement. she walked out well, stood patiently in line and trotted out beautifully for the judge.
We came second as she 'looks less mature than the other' who was 3 And who was handed the first rosette with 'this isnt awarded for his manners'. But Luna's manners were lovely and my smile said it all, I was so proud of her. To me thats better than any first place, especially at her first show.
Walking her back to the trailer away from all the other horses and she was a bit animated leaving the others but I kept quiet with her and carried on walking. Stood munching hay the trailer for ten minutes then loaded back on straight away and we got her home, she travelled much better on the way home.
So a day of firsts for luna and i can't wait for the future
And my favourite of the day
