I thought it was about time I introduced you all to my new lady... I have been a bit nervous about putting any videos or pictures of her on here as she is very new to me and also very green so they are not the best videos!

I took one of her being lunged yesterday in the snow though, so thought I would take the plunge so to speak...

She is a rising 4 year old 16.3hh jet black mare and her breeding is Houston x Gregor x Uppercut xx. She is quite a hot little cookie and has some big opinions of her own, but hopefully we are slowly working through those. Before I went on holiday I was getting on her without someone on the ground and working her from cold which I felt was a great achievement seeing as I had only had her a few weeks. Unfortunately, with the weather all riding has ground to a halt and she has not been worked from the saddle now for 5 weeks

Hopefully, now it is starting to improve a little we can get back going again

She was backed in the late summer, had a bit of a break and then was brought back into work by a professional... so the buttons have been a bit mixed up but I feel we are starting to understand each other a little more now.

Anyway... here is my new lady Bolli (Bolana):

You know i love her!!

Just a couple of things though, firstly keep an eye on your lunge line especially with a young horse, its nearly on the ground a couple of times and if she had a naughty moment she could get caught in it. Secondly do lots of walk/trot/walk trot/walk/trot transitions with her so shes not just trotting around! Will give her something to think about and will get her used to listening to you more
smile.gif

PS - sorry i went offline yesterday just before you messaged me! Think i was probably at work. Hope the other girls and Troy are ok x

It's not me lunging
smile.gif

She is currently with my trainer as she went on her hols when I did and I cannot get her home so she is staying there a little while
smile.gif

*sigh* I wish my TEN YEAR OLD would lunge as well as that! Only watched a few mins but she looks v elastic, very nice good luck with her, being jet black she will look very striking going down that centre line
smile.gif

I cannot get my horsebox up the drive where I stable the girls, so I had to leave it there over Christmas and still can't get it back... horrendous

She only lunged her for a little while to show me how she was looking as the ground was still a bit frozen under the rubber and ice balling up in their feet still. I wish this bloody weather will just go away. I have only been home 2 days and already I am sick of it

Thank you... I just wish she either had 2 whites in front of none at all. I can't stop staring at the white front leg

She is very very loose indeed, it took me quite a few attempts to get my rising slow enough for her trot

If you only watched a few mins you will have missed her tantrum then

Lovely girl! Would say tho if that's a 'tantrum' for her you should have a great time, i don't think many 4 yr old's would lunge in those conditions without having a little bit of a bounce!

No... My 9 year old did much worse than that yesterday being lunged. I don't think she had four feet on the ground at any one time
grin.gif

She is just quite opinionated about things, like going in and out of the round pen but I have put a lot of in hand work into her already and she learns very quickly indeed. She would rear when led out of the round pen (where they are turned out) so I worked with a Richard Maxwell halter and just kept repeating what I was expecting of her. It all showed when I unloaded her at my trainers. They were having haylage delivered and muck heap removed so was absolute mayhem. They wanted me to unload her when it had quietened down, but I wanted to know how she would react in this kind of situation with the work in place. She was seriously on fire, so wound up, but I put my hand up and asked her to keep out of my space and you could see her visibly relax, lower her head and she unloaded like an old pro with a pull or a worry!

She looks lovely under saddle - how big is she again? She looks smaller than Han and Grace
smile.gif

She stands at 16.3hh at the moment but I think she will end up at 17hh as she now needs to fill out more
smile.gif

Han is only 16.2hh but she rides quite big and looks much bigger under saddle than Grace who is just under 17.1hh
smile.gif

She dosent look that big!! Probably because she is young she needs to grow in to herself if that makes sense.

I love her though, wish i could afford to have something to ride as im starting to miss it again
frown.gif
Not long until i can start playing with Jupi over the summer though!

She looks big when you are next to her, but not when you are on her

Can you believe Troy monster is now classed as a 3 year old

She's stunning! Can't wait to see some ridden videos! Lovely rhythmical paces, and very balanced for her age.

I have put a really rubbish video of me riding her on Page One I think of this post

Towards the end of it.

Thank you, I have been so nervous because I found her by myself and it was a bit of an impulse buy because I just had that 'this is the one' feeling. I drove home after viewing her and just couldn't stop thinking about her and phoned them that evening

She's lovely JetSet!! Beautifully balanced trot!

Hopefully the weather clears up soon so you can get her home and continue what you started x

Thank you... I am really quite taken with her although all my promises that I would not rush into anything and have people look videos over etc etc went out the window completely!

How is your boy?
