Introducing my new girl...

She's really lovely, very balanced & rythmical for her age quite uphill also from what i could see. I would say your Impulse buy was a very good one, sometimes you just know.
 
She is stunning! I love her long legs- a real blood type. Do you know if she can jump?

You are soo lucky to have 4 beautiful horses! I have no idea where you find the time but wish you loads of luck with her and your others - can't wait to see the comp pics and results. I wish my 13yr old lunged as well!!! x

I don't know whether she can jump, I was planning on loose jumping her between Christmas and New Year but the snow came

Quite a few of the Houston mares produce really good jumping babies (Wish Upon a Star is an example).
 
Lovely mare- was directed to this thread as i own a Houston son (Texas- approved CSHA stallion)

Houstons are wonderful horses once you figure out their many personality quirks they bounce between quiet and easy and overly reactive- but the one thing they are is very very honest- once you learn to read the horse you can usually see things coming a mile away. I've kept in touch with quite a few houston owners over the years and definatly their quirks seem to pass through on that first generation. . . they can be a fabulous horse though once you figure them out and keep listening to them.

And they jump Texas (Houston x Pinkus) jumped 5'3 in his stallion approvals and often recieved scores of up to 9 for scope and technique in free jump competitions. . . he only played with it a little bit under saddle a few times bu easily did 3 foot. We had planned to retire him to being my daughters hunter down the road- but unfortunatly he's retired due to injury
 
She is FAB. So elegant and that trot is just beautiful. She just floats along. Mind you, it looks like she would be sharp on her feet too!!

Lovely to hear from a fellow Houston owner...

Bolli is the youngest one of seven who are out of the mare by Houston. Most of her sisters are keur or ster so I am hoping she does well at the grading in the summer

I really like her sparkiness though, she is so very opinionated and can be slightly touchy to handle, but she learns so very quickly and once she understand what you expect and what the boundaries are, she does not seem to keep testing those.

Eventually, if things go to plan, I hope to breed from her once she has finished her ridden career (which I am hoping will not be for a long time) as her sisters have all produced stunning foals which have gone on to be successful.

Please do keep in touch. I don't think there are that many Houston horses out there!

I have an awful lot to learn though, in many ways I will be holding her back somewhat but I wanted a horse that would allow me to reach my potential rather than just reaching the horse's and having to stop prgressing. Hopefully, she will be able to do that with me!

I am just so pleased I was impulsive... I arranged to see her Thursday, tried her Sunday and bought her Monday morning

Don't normally post on here, you have a lovely youngster with a lovely manner and a great way of working. Although not a critisicm, talking from my point of view and this is not a slight in any way but you need to roll your shoulders back, sit up straighter, just lift your chin a little and look ahead because that will ajust your balance and help her more. The whole balance thing is so important and it's amazing how horses naturally adjust to a slight movent, whether it be the right or wrong way. The lower body is good. Good luck to you both she is lovely

Also watched your ridden vid, and can't believe a 3yo is so well balanced (my TB literally couldn't canter under saddle at all at that age)

I was wondering this too... she is pretty short coupled for a mare and is a 6ft 3 rug (although in a 6ft 6 as had one in so it WILL fit). She looks pretty big when you stand next to her, but not so much when someone is on her.

Thank you for the lovely comments about Grace. She is a whole new horse since October... and it is all down to a change of bit. I know people will not believe this because I would not have done either. But since using a baucher in her (she was in a loose ring) she is so much more confident in taking the contact forwards and I can now ride her from behind as she is constant in the contact! I am absolutely thrilled to bits with how she has progressed and the canter is a testimony of that as it has come so much stronger now. You have made my day by saying that about her, you really have because although all my horses are special to me, I don't think I will ever have another horse that I have such an incredible bond with
