Flora Bella!! She was delivered yesterday morning and seems to be settling well. She is an 8yr old 16hh TB who ran in two point to points and was just a little too polite. I had been having riding lessons on her to get me back in the saddle whilst I was looking for a horse - I knew that Steve - RI - had to sell her at some point but also knew she was out of my price range. Long story short he let me have her for what I could afford because he wanted her to go to a good home more than anything, so after a two week trial at his yard we both agreed it was a brilliant match and she came home!!

She's very laid back, sweet, easy mare ready for me to just get on and go with :-) I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!! (well less of the girl these days!) Forgive the state of me in these photos we'd just had to 'show our faces' at a works picnic and I am dieting since my knee operation had me off my feet and putting on weight.

Thanks HH I happen to think she is a little special... its always a bonus when they are pretty - though its her temprement thats wonderful...

Feels so good to have a horse again, after everything I actually shed a tear or two yesterday when she arrived. She still doesn't quite feel like mine!

Oh I do love a happy ending:D:D

She is stunning and it's looks like you could have a match made in heaven there, you lucky, lucky, girl!!!

What breed is she, is she a TB?? How big is she? How did you talk the owner into letting you have her? And how long have you known her? What's the rest of the story?

I'm nosey, sorry.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Oh Mrs M thank you - I must admit I shed a tear or two yesterday with a couple of the girls who've been through it all with me...

I actually didn't talk owner into letting me have her - I never thought he would - he just said one day after a lesson I want her to have a home for life where she'll be loved and spoilt - would you like her. I nearly chewed his arm off...

I've known her a month or so - had a few lessons on her then 'loaned' her at his yard for two weeks before she came home, which is great because we've got to know each other a bit, and she's a real sweetie.

The story is a long one, but put succinctly I had River for 5yrs he then got very sick, I bought Luca to break and be my riding horse. Luc hurt his back and I had a horrific fall requiring an ambulance and knee operation. River was then PTS, then 5 months later it became clear Luc's back issues couldn't be resolved and he was then PTS. I've had a tough time finding 'the one' this time round as I was very scared about it all, and I've not really been able to ride a huge amount since damaging my knee... So her coming home is a VERY special thing to me - I'd just about given up hope...

Your post brought a tear to my eyes (damn you!). I really admire the candour and bravery you've shown over what has been a horrendous time, glad to see you smiling again though lovely... xxx

Everything happens for a reason and I had faith there was another out there who would one day come home and help heal the hurts. She is doing that - riding her on Friday (she was still at her own 'home' but I'd made the final payment on her) we went out on a long hack and I thought - this is how its meant to be (whilst cantering alongside another TB on the buckle)... Lets hope she settles well and soon I can be posting about our outings and achievments not asking advice on when its best to give up!!!

Thank you all so much... I do believe she may be perfect but lets see how she settles in first!! :-)

To everyone out there hunting and loosing faith that they will find a decent horse they are out there!!!
