After lurking here for years I felt the urge to post on a thread today so thought id better introduce myself. I consider myself a young at heart veteran. Rode a bit as a child then really caught the bug in my 40s. Now pushing 60 and ride 5 or 6 times a week. I'm definitely a happy hacker, don't have my own horse but have ridden for a lovely family locally for about the last 15 years - exercising their pointers, hunters, eventers, all sorts. I love the countryside, enjoy hacking on my own and with others. I also love being with the horses i have been riding when they compete.
I'm lucky to live in a part of Essex where we have lots of tracks and can still find some quiet lanes (although much harder these days to miss the traffic).
I really appreciate being able to ride so much, without the responsibility of owning my own horse (although of course I have sometimes been very tempted).
