Dear Jennbags has been in touch to say she is happy to post pictures, so now I can tell you about Sonnet.
A Flatcoated Retriever bitch puppy, 10 weeks old today. I collected her 11 days ago. She is very closely related to my 10yr old black bitch and 5 yr old liver bitch. My breeder alerted me to the litter saying she wished she had kept the mother as she was so nice. I had been debating whether I was too old to cope with another flatcoat puppy. We will see!
She is settling in happily, my younger girl is a bit put out that she is no longer my baby, but both dogs are being very good.

She's so beautiful

Oh bless adorable and she is making sure your girls WILL love her, I love how she is copying your liver one in the last picture.

Fab-u-lous
Hope she grows up to be a typical flatcoat, practically perfect in every way.

Chiffy, Sonnet is absolutely gorgeous. She is going to bring you so much fun and happiness, along with your two other beautiful girls. The early mornings will soon be a distant memory .... honest! Xx

Ooh! CT, but you are a Spaniel person!

There are similarities though, intelligent and enthusiastic about life.

But Zak has a flat coat shaped head and I fell in love with the big goofball flatcoat he made friends with when training! Gorgeous dog. It's definitely a gun dog thing with me, although oddly, not labs. I've already told the OH we have to switch breeds for our next lot, there's no way we'd find (or want!) another like Zak :biggrin3:

Great news CT, they are a wonderful breed. Really biddable if you get on with the training. They just have a bit of a sense of humour which makes the shooting folk prefer labs. But they are very capable in obedience, agility or anything else you wish them to do....and SO friendly.

She is gorgeous Chiffy. Sonnet is a wonderful name.
I saw some flatcoats at the game fair today, I am sure they have grown in popularity? Some of them were even behaving...!! (Tongue in cheek smiley insert here).

Thank you Clodagh, I wasn't sure if the name was going to be easy to use but I am getting there. She knows it already.
If flatcoats weren't behaving then that is the owners fault! As you well know!
My little beauty has got the hang of sit, tiny bit of heelwork and a puppy recall. She thinks it's tremendous fun. Hope it's stuck in her brain before she gets to the wayward teenager phase!

Sonnet is a very easy name to say - try Philomena (one of my mother's other dogs!) :D :D She is gorgeous as you already know :)
