Classic, your version of hasn't done a lot is more than I have done all year, in this pics! She looks mature in the head and She looks lovely and I love a youngster! So ace pics! Not to mention your other who looks lovely too!

Very pretty :)

I have seen a few primitive rising horses in my search for a youngster but someone warned me off them for being hot. I am a competent rider but I am wary of over horsing my self. How is your mare?

Thanks all :) looking forward to having some fun on her hopefully.

I know black mare- I like a challenge!!

She doesn't seem too sharp atm but they never are too bad when they are weak.

Popsdosh - she is out of a Primitive Rising mare.

She is lovely!

The one thing I would suggest is to just hold or hook a few finger under your martingale/neck strap over jumps as she looks like she is unbalancing you and you are yucking her in the mouth a little. This will allow you to keep balance and will help until she is a little more settled in her jump and you won't need too!

will be interesting to see which holds the most influence Samber or PR. I did have a PR horse a while ago. Stunning horse with beautiful movement, dam was a WB x. He was also stressy and not that bright. All the PR horses I knew (including mine) cribbed but they were "first" generations. My PR horse was very bold but looking back, I wish I had not had the instructor I had at the time because she overfaced the pair of us badly. If we had had more time, or I had known more, I would have spent more time consolidating his jumping work and he jumped very big and green. He was the most unforgiving horse I have ever owned as well! However it will be interesting to see how yours turns out with the other influences you have as well.

To be fair though, with PR and Samber two generations back (unlikely to be a first gen Samber for same reason as likely not first gen PR) then there are six other influences in that generation alone. Just because a horse in the pedigree is most famous, does not make it more influential. Ditto stallions - they are more promoted and obviously have a bigger sample of offspring to analyse but do not influence individual genetics any more than the mare (and there is some good evidence the balance might be towards the mare).

I know no one cares ;) and the OPs horse looks a lovely little horse so it doesn't matter a jot who her parents are or aren't. But if we're going to use breeding to predict outcome - which is the whole point - it's not about this or that name, it's about the mix and understanding influences and modifiers. And a good dollop of luck!! :D

Normally I would agree with Tarr Steps but I have known 5 different PR horses, all first generation and they all were good jumpers, good movement and all cribbed and were stressy. I have never seen another stallion with such a clear imprint on stock in this way so it is something I would be mindful of if I saw PR in the bloodlines.
