My new Beastie Missi :D :D

She's 16.2hh, 5 years old ISH. She came over from Ireland in a sorry state in April but has blossomed into a rather porky beast! She arrived with me on Sunday :D

She's hunted in Ireland and since being over here has done a couple of small training shoes. She is a bit lazy but I'm hoping as her fitness, confidence and interest improves so will her attitude to working!

She is so sweet on the ground, was completely chilled when she came of the lorry after a four hour journey and fell asleep in her stable whilst we gave her a good groom.

She's had a few days to settle out in the field before I took her on her first ride yesterday, she was really good considering it was her first ride in a new home, she was more forward going then I thought she would be and was happy to go in front. I think there is a 'tantrum queen' in there which will probably make an ugly appearance at some point but she's really sweet on the ground and I don't mind a little bit of attitude when ridden as long as it doesn't become a big issue. Will hack her quietly with others for a week or so, do some work in the school and then venture out on my own with her.

Really stressed out on day 2 ;) :D

lucky you to have such long legs! :)

My daughter is 6ft with 36" legs, believe me they are not always a blessing when trying to fit into a saddle, ended up having to have a jumping saddle with thigh rolls instead of knee rolls as couldn't get stirrups up enough when needed! Jods and trousers are always a pain to find too.....
Horse looks lovely by the way, good luck with her!

But are you going to change the saddle? It looks tiny for you, you long legged thing!!

It's not my saddle, that was when I went to try her :) Saddler due this afternoon so hopefully I'll be able to start getting her fitter and slimmer!

Yesterday she proved she could jump by jumping out of the 'starvation patch' over a 4'8" gate :o

Plan B today, heading out to buy her a muzzle ;) :D
