What a fabulous chap! Has Mr GS had a sit on him?

Oh yes , he rode him not me yesterday .
the yard owners daughter showed him off and jumped him , the school does not really show him to advantage he was lazy and he pretty stiff in the bend but he jumps very well for type and clearly likes to jump .
I then put MrGS on and she got on another and they went a hack she had them cantering about fields and jumping logs and hunt jumps .
We hacked together this morning the horse was great fingers crossed .
I am just back from dressage comp with Sky so have popped Blue back out for an hour before the rest go out for the night .
Better safe than sorry .

And I suspect my budget might need to stretch a bit!

I paid 6.5 k he’s very fat has mites and need some work done on his way of going but he jumps well is extremely sensible and is kind .
Fit slim and going a little better it would be easy to sell him for more say in six months .
But he won’t go anywhere now this is his last new home .

Yes he will fit in with Fatty .
I need to do a bit of rejigging with the fencing to join some of the smaller bits into a weird shaped strip and I will have to let them get to know each other .
I know he came from a 100 plus horse DIY yard I don’t know if he’s had much turnout . I thought he would disappear into the paddock and stuff his face but he did not he stayed up by the gate and nibbled , bit like when you buy a foreign warmblood who does not know what to do in a field .
He was keen to come in as well .
I will need to introduce them out hacking and then probably put Fatty out in the good paddock Blue was in today , then there will be no badness from Fatty as he will just ram his head down .
It’s Sky I will have to watch he’s dominant and was naughty with the others at first .

I will work towards them all being together when we get into winter .
It’s tempting to put him onto a really severe diet But I need to keep him sweet so I am restricting the Timothy haylege and giving a mixture of top chop zero a little Timothy chop and few grass nuts mixed that’s working so far I put the chop on his door and nibbles and watches what’s going on .

He’s exactly what I’d want if I were in the market. I can’t wait to see the slim version! His colour is stunning: a mare arrived on sales livery this week, same colour, but clearly got Appaloosa in her somewhere. Oddly, she is also called Blue!

So just back from a hack across the fields the Blue opened and shut gates went up and down banks crossed streams went out in front , his preferred place he is not so keen on being behind
we cantered with H out in front and Sky beside Blue
we sent Sky and H out in front in gallop to see what he would do when two horses just went away fast he followed but could not keep up they are fit and ready to hunt
he was then sure what where going to on every straight bit so we did not and walked home .
MrGs looks very at home on him .
and Sky gosh what a change just under a year makes uphill covering the ground easily stops off your voice he was a joy today fit young friend is going to have a great season on him he’s spot on ready to go .
That was lot of work for Blue but the going is perfect atm and I found out loads that I need to know .
The back story the sales livery was told is true he has been hunted in this past you can just tell good hunters have a skill set and he has it .
He’s very very bold and independent .
He does not love being told to wait .
He loves work he was so up for it .
Fingers crossed
