For anyone who has ever fancied a go, but not sure what's involved, or maybe you've done some pleasure rides & thinking about making the step up to competative rides, these sessions are fantastic. They are a mixture of talks from those with experience so you can benefit from their mistakes & avoid them (I am one of these people & boy I have made soooo many mistakes!), together with hands on praticle session using experienced endurance horses. Cost is £15 per adult, £20 family or £7.50 junior (including pastie lunch).

Was booked out last year, had excellent feedback from particiapnts. This year it has expanded to cover two areas, Devon (held at Bridestowe) & Cornwall (held at St Buryan, Penzance).

No, just you will be plenty! It's an unmounted day, work with horses is on the ground with very experienced riders & crews.

Everything needed will be provided on day including a very tasty lunch. Will be plenty of informal time to mooch about equipment that will be on show on the day. Theses sessions are very informal, small groups & questions are positively encouraged.

As an example, a lovely mum & daughter came last year. Daughter had wb, but getting to the stage where she wasn't enjoying the sj & xc as much. At the start they weren't sure if it would be for them (partly because they had a wb), by the end of the year daughter was riding a fit, happy, talented horse (in new pink tack), mum had turned into superstar crew. Both now hooked, have wonderful family days out enjoying their horse, who looks fab in pink!

Don't need box, car would do. It's not a riding day, all horse work from ground (how to prepare a horse for vettings, crewing, how to present to vet etc), experienced endurance horses provided to make life easier for you.

If you want to do a training ride, go to same web address, all south west events, including training rides & non-competative (used to be called pleasure rides) rides run at affiliated rides are listed there along with who to contact.

Any questions, just ask. South west are lovely group who will always be happy to help & welcome anyone into the sport. Love the horse in your sig, reckon he'd (forgive me if wrong sex) carry you for miles & be very comfy. Doesn't matter how far you want to go, 20km to ultimately 160km, as long as you have fun together. Southwest fab place for endurance, Golden Horshoe over Exmoor, West Moor over Bodmin, Brentor over Dartmoor, Boconnoc around the private estate to name a few. Loads of stunning rides.

MJR2BT - Go for it! You'll enjoy it, I bet! We endurance folks are a friendly bunch and definitely won't bite your head off!

Wrong part of the country for me to get to, but I can still guarantee that Pip & co. will put on a good day!
