and these regularly terrify the babies for some reason, sheer numbers perhaps, in spring/summer we will have hundreds of the wretched things in a paddock;

I put the youngsters turnout rug in the hay store when I hacking him last week. Came home, threw the rug over him & one very suprised mouse took some flying lessons from over his back & still managed to scamper away. Amazing when you consider the height of the fall in proportion to the mouse. l never could hit the ground like that & just jump up & run !
 
At the yard if the wind is in the right direction we can hear the lions at Chester Zoo roar! We also have nests full of swallows come springtime. So lovely to see their progress with the test flights

:D Ha! Yes I did.

I have three incredibly stupid dogs that decided to corner him, they stank for days, the barn stank for WEEKS! He still comes back he sleeps in a corner of a spare stable, I see him there late at night, we have come to an agreement, I leave him in peace and he leaves us unsprayed! (Dogs are banned from evening stables now - just in case)

Oh, the spider is a jumping spider, horrid things, they really DO jump!
 
barn owls, tawny owl, little owls, sparrowhawk (nests in tree by muck heap), 18" long grass snake (lays eggs in the muck heap and basks on it), buzzards, foxes, badgers, munt jack, herons, various bats, green woodpecker, cuckoo in season, lesser spotted woodpecker, jays, field fares, wild geese, swans, mice, shrews, rats (sometimes), rabbits, lots of red squirrels, the occasional bullock or sheep from next door's field in addition to our geese, ducks, chickens, sheep and pigs (but not all at the same time).;) Blackbird nest in the tack room was cute if messy. Moorhens pecking at the horses leftovers just cute. Wild ducks lay eggs in the garden and share our duck's food.
Just remembered - 2 pair of pheasants in the garden atm.
