I have said a few times that my Salem has an excellent recall.

However.....There was an incident last winter.

I was turning my horses into a dark field at 5am and then went back to walk the dogs. As the horses had all wandered down into the back field, I let my dogs into the first field.

I suddenly realised Obi (my beloved Arab) was still near the gate. He took off galloping towards the back field. It was too much for Salem's prey drive and he followed in hot persuit.

They both disappeared into the darkness and I stood, terrified of what was happening to them both.

A few minutes later Salem came skipping back looking pleased with himself:(

As I was scolding him, I felt the ground rumbling beneath my feet.......

The whole herd was galloping towards us, with my Arab in front.

Obi was back - and he'd brought all his mates with him.......:)

Salem ran back through the gate and in the opposite direction with his tail between his legs:)

Salem is a Utonagan x Inuit (both same breed but diff names)

He has Husky, Malamute, GSD and Czeck Wolfdog in him.

He is 9st of mischief:)

Chimo is an inuit as well, she is quite interested in horses, she chased one down the beach once, but as soon as it stopped she came back. She managed a horse and hound competition without too much troble but i am a bit scared of horses so we try not to get too close!!
