iPhone - New Feature - Medical Information on Lock Screen

With iOS8 (the new OS) being rolled out from today there is a fantastic feature for horse riders.

You can now setup a 'Medical Card' which can be accessed when the phone is locked from the emergency dialler menu. This means that if you have a fall and someone finds you they can use your phone to call your designated emergency contacts without issue. You can also show medical data that might be pertinent to emergency crews such as allergies or existing conditions.

I urge riders to consider using this feature. It could make a real difference in bad situations!

Not sure that all phones are due to the upgrade yet, but you can get this an app as well. Or could write and ICE no on your background.

It's a good idea but medic don't bother checking for medical jewelry so no chance of checking the phone
