iRide training - any good?

I bought the Circle of Contact one, as about a gazillion () people had recommended them to me. I had a bit of an aborted go at it as I only realised once on the horse that you are supposed to listen to them first. Doh. Also standing still while I faff with my hands = crazy chestnut mare constantly trying to pee off back to the stables. But I will give it another go! So many people recommended them to me and I don't have much money for lessons at the moment.

Don't think I helped you much there, did I?

Hi, I have tried quite a few of both the iride and sound schooling lessons. I really like both of them and find them very helpful. Especially in the cold evenings to give focus! Last night I did the Sound Schooling warm up and Impulsion/Suppleness ones and they were great!

I did find that the circle of contact one involved a lot of standing still at the start and it might not be the best one to start with to get an idea of how they work, but I did find it useful and my friend who was competing at prelim/novice BD found it really really helpful.

I found the Amy Stovold Developing Pushing Power REALLY good and am currently working on the developing collection one as I'm about to make my medium BD debut (arghhhhhhhhhh!)

Depending on your level I would recommend trying these:

Sound Schooling- Basic warmup followed by one of the prelim/novice ones- maybe developing the transitions. Or the Serpentines one which features me and my boy in the piccy!!

iRide- circle of contact if you don't mind standing still, or making the right connection if you want to move around!

Hope that's helpful!

J

Sorry to bring this up again but AF did you find these any good?

I'm considering getting a couple of them to keep me focused when riding!

Hi JB

I bought them and listened to them while driving home one night as I wanted to see what they were like before I rode my boy with it. Sounded v interesting and I think it will keep me focused when warming up

Since purchasing it though the weather has been rubbish and I haven't had chance to try it out!
