Irish Draughts... tell me EVERYTHING!

Lots of gorgeous horses on this post. Mine is in a wide KN dressage saddle which suits him well. He's got quite a forward girth groove so I have a shaped Passier dressage girth which helps stop his saddle inching forward. Hopefully when his withers catch up with his bum it'll stay put altogether :)

Funny you should mention the door banging... I only bought her on 1st June so I haven't stabled her as yet but she has a habit of throwing her front leg forward when bored of standing or when she wants some attention (if we are dealing with our others) lol. She is currently just under 16hh, just turned 3yr and I reckon is gonna make 16.3-17hh probably.

Ok, here goes with the pics...

Aw Tia0513 - she's beautiful. My mare throws her leg forward too when she gets bored when I am leading her. I don't like the habit having a 17hh WB that was aggressive and did a lot of strikiing with his fronts when he was undiagnosed and in pain. It makes me flinch everytime. Otherwise she is great and a very clever quick learner. Great similarities between your and my mare. I have a little size envy. Similar faces too Have only had my mare for 3 or so weeks now :D

I love my IDxTB. He is a very good jumper, will turn his hoof to dresaage, Hacks out on his own. He is a really nice horse with a lovely nature never puts his ears back or grumpy. Spooky though!!!

Yasandcrystal , I'm not that keen on the leg thing either so I am currently employing the ignoring her tactic in a hope that she will learn it doesn't get her anywhere and hopefully she will stop doing it! Your mare is a real cutie :D she may surprise you with a big growth spurt!

Yes striking is a pain and the WB still does it, but no longer with malice, but it bruises and it means I am always cautious bridling and can't stand in the conventional spot for fear of a leg in my knee or thigh :( Hopefully they will outgrow it like you say. Thanks - I hope she grows - she will definately fill outward if not upward .

Mine is 5, bought him last year from Janet George as a 4yr old. He's given me back all the confidence I lost with a quirky wb. He's in a wide saddle but was easy to fit. Still growing and has a cheeky sweet personality. He can be spooky and looks to me for confidence but he has a heart of gold.

He looks lovely! Just had to comment to say I love your matchy matchy :D such a nice colour.

This thread needs a baby one.

Then the baby one grows up into a rude 2 year old. She has been taught that it is not ladylike to stick ones tongue out at people. She had been told off for nipping and this was the reaction ! That expression is so 'I hate you'

Our mare was by Parnell out of a Beeston mare we prayed when we went to shows that there would be helicopter rides going on as it woke her up a bit. Totally unflappable would hunt all day. Our stallion was the same loved attention and fuss.
