Ive just affiliated my ID mare and we are competing at Novice level dressage, we've only been out three times and have been 3rd three times. I am happy to say she is doing much better than I thought she would, especially as she is 13 and had never done any flatwork until 3 years ago! Have you got an ID that's doing well at dressage?

I had a warmblood x ID who was super at dressage..... lovely strong, clean paces, nothing really fancy, but foot perfect and clean which worked and eventually he was doing elementary after 12 months.

I've got a 5 yo ISH who does BD & is getting marks in the 60's in his first few outings. He'd rather be jumping tho & also does BSJA. The ISH in my avatar did both too & got some points.

Ive got an IDx whos so so talented at dressage. Problem is, we can do it at home then it all goes wrong when his spooky side comes out at competitions. Fingers crossed we get better in 2008.

I've an ID who could do dressage if somone else rode her

I'm just happy to keep her inside the arena! She (and I) perfer jumping.

Have you looked up Breezie Sue or O'leary's Irish Diamond? They're doing quite well at top level dressage

I have a 3/4 bred mare, she has won at Elementary but I dont do that much anymore, she is so lazy it is untrue, so to get a test when she doesnt break in canter (through laziness) she has to be trained like a racehorse, and TBH I am not that commited to Dressage!

I have to say though, that she is truly the most comfy ride in the world!

Yes, mine is lazy when doing dressage, but never at any other time, quite the opposite. She has to be fed on competition mix to give her the oomph in the arena. Yes she likes jumping better I think, but I dont, so I compromise and do a bit of jumping at home now and then, as well as fun rides, to give her some excitement, loads of hacking too! She gets bored very quickly so i find that schooling 2-3 times a week max is enough, any more than that and she just wont do it!!! Does this work for anyone else?
