Ive had my new girl a couple of months now and as shes had her first couple of injections etc, I thought now would be the best time to sort her passport out. I need to change the ownership obviously and at the moment shes just a number so need to get her name sorted.

Last time I had a horse there was no such thing as passports so what do I need to do??

Is there an official website or something? Shes a registered Irish Sports Horse so has the green Irish Horse Register Passport if that makes a difference?

Help, hehe!!!

go on here http://www.irishsporthorse.com/forms/transfer_of_ownership.695.html, fill in and follow the instructions, you will need to send the passport with this and the relevant fee. Note, they only accept payment in the form of Euros so it will probably be cheaper for you to send cash than get a bank draft, just make sure you send it registered delivery.

Depending on how many they have it shouldn't take too long to get it back, mine was peak time and they had a back log and it was still back within 4 weeks. Good luck!

You need to email or ring The irish horse board co-op society ltd
Dept of agriculture & food, Maynooth Business Campus .
Maynooth, Co.kildare .
0035316072816

Ask them for a change of ownership form, fill that in and send your passport to the above address . There will be a small fee for this . Also send 4 names of your choice . I think naming is something along the lines of 40 euro . Don't quote me though .

But I am sure if you ring them they will be able to sort you out :)

Ah great thanks I'll get that done, so I'll need to get some money changed into euros will I? can I not send a cheque with the correct converted ammount?

Send it to the northern Ireland branch which is Northern Ireland horse Board Co-operative Society Limited, 23 Ballykeigle Road, Comber, Co.Down BT23 5SD. There telephone number is 02897528324. You can down load all of the forms that you need to fill in for chnage of owner and naming the horse. The cost is £45. I can also give you the e-mail but all you need to do is type in Northern Ireland Horse board. Did my new horse only a month ago. Hope that helps
