Irish peeps - horse vaccinations

As some of you may have seen before, I am probably moving to Republic of Ireland soon. Just had a nasty thought, and knew this was the best place to ask...

If I bring my horse over, are there any legal requirements for vaccinations he has to have?

Just Flu' I think - possibly tet too. You may also need coggins bloods pulled

I thinks it's just that his flu and tetnus shots are up to date and recorded on his passport.

coggins is to test for swamp fever. Not a problem really coming ffrom the UK, but may need one done of going from Ireland to UK

Also works the other way round..I just had coggins pulled for a horse coming from the UK in - Transporters wouldn't touch it without!

If you are asking about the legal requirements for vaccinations - the answer is none. A horse may travel freely into Ireland (or the other way) with no vaccinations whatsoever. However common sense would say it is unwise not to have flu and tet done.

The legal requirement is a passport. That is all.

If a transporter decides to apply extra requirements - that is up to them.
