I've heard of an Irish Sports Horse but got told the other day that the pony that I used to ride is an Irish Sports Pony. He's about 14.1hh, I thought he was an NF x Welsh D tbh. Does anyone have any pictures?

It's a type not a breed and basically anything under 14.2 that's been born in Ireland! Just like ISH can all look different! My girl in my siggie is an ISH, but a lot heavier than most!

I used to know one who was about 14.1hh with appaloosa type markings. She was a fab little pony, good at everything but particularly at jumping.

Yeah nothing extraordinary. I have a 3yo 14 hand Connemara/Appaloosa. Been calling him pony but think will jazz it up with Irish Sport pony. Surely that ups his value! LOL!

Ruby is an Irish Sports Pony! I looked into her breeding and think shes IDXTBXWB. Shes 14.2

Like an ISH I would expect an Irish Sports Pony to be either connie or Irish draught X.

Id say its a type not a breed, like ISH. I wouldnt necessarily count on any ID in an ISH.
(An IDSH (Irish Draught Sport Horse) however, has to have a minimum of 25% ID.)

Its an Irish Sport Pony if it carries a passport saying it is from the Irish Sports Horse Board and is under 148cms. (They're metric over there!) The Irish Board does restrict and grade registered stallions. To qualify as an Irish Sports horse / Pony it has to have specified and registered breeding. So it is a bit more than just born in ireland.

Mines a 14hh Irish coloured cob type -(don't know breeding)- when he's slim & popping big fences people call him an Irish sports pony!!!

This is Lily. She has an ISH passport, but is only about 14.2ish. She rides like a pony and can spin on a sixpence just like a pony!! :). Luckily I'm vertically challenged so make her look bigger than what she is :)

No it's not. It has to be Connie tb , tbh irish draft , ect. Under 14.2 It could also have irish breeding be born in another country but still ish, or isp
