Does anyone have any experience of this breed? I'm finally in the position to seriously think about having a dog & these have really caught my eye. I think I will end up with a rescue dog as that sits alot better with me & to be honest i'll probably go to a rescue and have my heart stolen by something completely different but i'm keeping all of my options open! So if anyone has any experiences of them i'd love to hear them!!

I've only met a few on my grooming bench - one of which is a lovely chap who has come back several times (dog lived in Cornwall and the owners brought him to me in Edinburgh now and again).

I couldn't really say how they all are as a breed having only ever met a few, but the ones I met were rather standoffish at first and then warmed up eventually, turning in to rather sweet dogs.

To be honest, as much as I realise that you're keen to get a rescue, you'll probably not find one unless you go thru the Irish Terrier rescue (if there is one). I will perhaps get shot down in flames for this, but as an endangered breed, I would encourage someone to support their numbers by getting a breed in decline by getting a pup from a reputable breeder.
