Irish Weekends..

Just wondering if anyone has been to ireland on a long weekend etc...
Im just wondering what there is to do/places to go/ places to stay?
Any one have any recomendations?

i've been to Dublin for a long weekend and it was mega, but it wasn't horsey.... i didn't dare venture into the countryside in case i ended up trying to cram a few nice youngsters in my hand luggage.

What are you looking for - relaxing or full on. Full on I would highly recommend Dublin, fab City. North or South?

Dublin. I live here and it has everything. You can do the fun city stuff, restaurants, theatre, night clubs. If you want to horse ride it only 30 mins to countryside and lots of yards. Also you can get coachtrips to history and culture sites like Powerscourt and Glendalough-beautiful spots. There's also the National Stud which is a lovely horsey outing.

If its something horsey you are looking would recommend Flowerhill equestrian centre, They also cater for weekends away .

Just stick it in google .

Or like only_me has said..... We do have some nice places here in n.ireland .

Giants Causeway
Ulster american folk park
Armagh planetarium(sp?)
Marble Arch Cave .
Belfast City centre ( odessay, the big wheel shopping etc )

For views I would highly recommend the donegal coasts, also the glens of antrim is pretty spectacular .

For a weekend break I'd go to Galway. Fabulous pubs etc, and beach riding and gorgeous scenery nearby.

we went to Flowerhill near ballinasloe... Oliver Walsh there was brilliant, and the horses were excellent. We ahd 2 days hunting, but he has an enormous equestrian centre for those who don't want to hunt.
