Does anyone have any recommendations for chews which are long lasting but also very appetising? We have a young lurcher who in in recovery having been gored by a deer, and is somewhat climbing the walls. She likes chews, and will happily chew them for hours, but she's also very fussy. She's currently having these, which she likes, but at £9 a bag, and with two other dogs who also want one or get jealous, it's a relatively expensive habit. Are there any other chews which would be worth a try, and she might like? She's not really a fan of the simple rawhide twist ones - might be an impossible ask I suppose!

Also, if there are any dog treats that seem to be universally liked? Trying to train her and another for fun, but both very fussy. At the moment I'm cooking chicken and cutting it up as treats, but if there's dog treats that they'd probably like that'd be much easier. Neither like cheese.

I buy pigs ears and bulls pizzle chews off Amazon as chewy snacks.

For a long chew he loves the Antos antler chews, expensive but long lasting. Also stuffed bones or a stuffed kong.

I use these mainly for agility training as found he loves them and they’re not messy for my pocket. http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/p...-treats-chicken-and-pollock-chewy-hearts-100g

Cooked chicken sausages he goes mad for but he gets too overexcited so I’m just going to mainly use those for recall when he comes out riding with me.

You could try a kong. Soak some kibble til its mushy then stuff in kong and freeze. You can also stuff with tinned meat.
Lick mats are good too as long as you supervise the dog if its likely to chew the mat.
You can use squeezy cheese liver paste or peanut butter but be careful with peanut butter as some contains a additive dangerous to dogs so check that out before using.
Dentaflex chews are quite good in moderation.
marmite or vegimite in small quantities to flavour but its high in salt so dont use too much.
buster cubes or wobbly kongs or ruffle mats all can help with boredom.

I wouldn't feed those chews as you may have problems. https://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/rawhide-dangerous-for-dogs/ I fed them many, many years ago with out really thinking about it until about thirty years ago my friend nearly lost her dog from eating one. What was worse I gave it to her. Luckily she survived the op and had no further problems.
I too would recommend kongs. If you google Kong recipes you will find something that your dog will like.

Raw meaty bones?? Antlers?

Would echo the sentiments above about the chews that you currently feed as they contain rawhide and I couldn't find the country of origin anywhere. If China or anywhere other than UK I would say a definite no-no.

Thanks for all the ideas, really interesting and lots to try - I'll report back on what they like. I won't buy the ones we're currently feeding again!

Gave them a sausage earlier, but of course they wouldn't eat it, daft dogs.

My lot love kongs, they get their normal food in there, I make Zak's difficult to eat otherwise he finishes his and nicks everyone else's, so chunk of raw carrot blocking the top.

Echo the rawhide stuff, really horrible. You may as well give him a leather shoe to eat.
