I know it happens all the time but this is ridiculous! A neighbour bought a staff puppy, no health checks and no thought into wether she could handle a young puppy while having a young kid :( said puppy is now looking for a new home at 9 weeks old ..

Had all this a few years back with another staff puppy that was way too young to even be away from his mum let alone off to his 3rd home.

:(

 its tragic isn't it? we got our puppy (staffy x bulldog) she was 8weeks old and we where her second home .. she's 5 years old now and we wouldn't part with her for the world .. she is the daftest mutt i have ever met .. they obviously didn't know how fab she would turn out!! :p (oo and we could cope with a puppy and young child ..amazing how people think their world will end if they have both!!) :(

I had a 9 month old baby and 9 week old puppy ... It was rather hard though! I agree though, a member of my OHs family has just had a litter of staffy pups coz 'he knew they would have good colurs/markings' sickening :( x

that is one breed that could do with a stop on breeding for a couple of years, there are so many in rescue and so many pts that would make fabulous pets for someone if they were given a chance.

Sadly there are a lot of people like your neighbours, mores the pity a little thought would save an awful lot of lives :(

Girl on another forum just 'rescued' two littermate staffie girls aged four weeks. :( The breeder 'wanted rid'. Heartbreaking.

I'd say it's impossible to stop these idiots who obviously don't care about ruining the breed by overbreeding, but with any luck, the breed will experience a waning of popularity as many breeds do and it will give staffies a chance to recover.
