Irresponsible Owners

For the curious, what actually happened is that when I turned the corner we all briefly froze. Having assessed the situation the cat then flattened on the road and refused to move, so the woman tried to scrape it up and was being clawed in the process. Meanwhile the large dog started whinging the song of her people eeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEE while I marched her away before she could explode.

I will admit I HAVE been that person with a cat on a (non flexi) lead on a few occasions as he WILL NOT use a litter tray (or go in his own garden if he thinks that’s what you want… quite happy to if you’re not deliberately preventing his escape from said garden!) when he’s had to be kept in due to injury or anaesthetic. However on these occasions I only take him to the field at the bottom of the street. Wouldn’t dream of taking him on a “proper” walk in public! (I also had him follow me to the yard a few times (NOT on a lead!) when I kept horse in walking distance but he goes in those fields himself anyway so knows his own way home from there)

Will admit if I lived in middle of nowhere / somewhere with private land to walk on he probably would love to come on walks with the hooligan (and sometimes he does intercept us at the end of the street on our way home) but would never do this where we are now as wouldn’t be appropriate due to both traffic & other dog walkers!
