My OHs parents own a little JRT. They took him to the vet yesterday to get him booked in to get the snip. While there the vet (one I refuse to go to) asked them whether they thought it was such a good idea and that they should use him for stud!
The JRT is a cracking wee dog, lovely temperament but it the worst put together dog I have ever seen. It has bandy front legs and it's feet stick out really badly (wee short, short legs but full length JRT body) and he has strange back legs too. I wouldn't be surprised if has problems with them later on in life.
To me it just seems so irresponsible for the vet to be suggesting that they should use him for stud? To me there are enough unwanted litters about as it is without adding to it.
