Irritated by abbreviations....

like lami, navi, newfie, welshie ,nervie and ponio!!!

when people refer to their horses as having lami, why can't they say laminits, or navicular etc, It really irritates me and makes the condition of laminitis sound trivial.

Call me old fashioned but all this text speak or spelling words anyway you like or generally abbreviating everything is just lazy and shows a lack of comprehension.

I'm with you on this OP. I particularly hate "lami", whatever that is...

You just know its because the people who use it can't be bothered extending their brain that tiny little bit extra to formulate the entire word.

Or non-horsy examples - I got asked for my "addy" today, in a semi-formal email. I think he meant "address". How much time/space does "addy" save over "address"? Its still two syllables!

I actually just ignored that email.
