Just been quoted £75 for horsebox + driver from a reputable horse transport company. Journey would take 30 mins in a car, so anything up to an hour in the lorry (one way).

I've always been so lucky in getting lifts from people, diesel money and a bottle of wine, £75 seems OK to me just wondered if this is what people would expect/be happy to pay? The alternative is a 4.5 hour hack on busy roads!

Thats cheap, snatch their arm off!. Lets say it is 30 miles, lorry goes 60 miles ,plus actualy getting to you , Thats about £1.00 per mile . Cheap.

Is that one way?

To compare I recently paid £120 for a one way trip of 30 miles with a professional horse transport company. Journey takes 30 mins in car or near on an hour by horse box so similar to your journey it seems.

I think your price is a VERY good price!

well I hire a 3.5 ton for 40, ok I've to pay for petrol but it's a 08 plate and ifor type one, but I have it for a whole day, or the night before, the day hire and return it late morning the next day if no other bookings, so if I'm clever that's 3 outings from one booking!
