Forgot to add, he said the use of Equissage on her is really good too
I am so glad I made the decision to buy one as anything that helps her makes me feel as though I am doing something.
Hotellie, she has never been intended for sale, so that is not an issue and I have been assured that once she has healed and I have brought her back into work as the vet wishes, it will be no weaker than any other.
Has the vet any idea what may have caused it (apologies if I've missed anything in other posts). I have my fingers crossed for you - you've had some bad luck lately.
I don't see why she shouldn't come back to full work. Willow had a core lesion in his back in April and was back in work by end of July. Trouble is tonight the bugger has gone and done the same thing in the opposite hind leg
Absolutely not! All depends on the health & condition of a horse but my mare did her digital flexor (knocked it age 6 and had to have 6 months off), she was Intermediate eventing the next year and went 2*
So in essence no, give her the time she needs!! Whilst is difficult, forget about her in that sense for the next few weeks, just look after her and keep her happy whilst thinking she is having a holiday! Worry only breeds more worry!
Just to say my old pony did his suspensory and had to have about 9months off - did it really bad - however hes flying round XC courses and all sorts now. Def not end of the career if properly managed and shes not rushed back into work - take it slow and fingers crossed she'll be able to compete again!
