My cob has got chubby and ive been trying everything to keep it off mainly muzzles which he refused to keep on - he got the knack of pulling them off with his hoof, rather like you and i might pull a tight welly off with our other foot - ive tried different muzzle types, different sizes - bought a field safe head collar to fix on top of his muzzle hoping that would work - no!!!

Im on diy so i asked if i bought my own fencing could i strip off part of the field just for my boy and another livery having same probs with her mare.

YO said "dont buy anything - i have lots of fencing", we said we would put it up he said no i'll sort it - this was yesterday.

Went up this morning to bring my boy in and he has made the most beautiful patch for the fatties - long and thin, under lots of trees for shelter and two steps away from the automatically filled water bath so we dont have to carry buckets far!!!!!

I so wish i could post pics here, when i saw it i almost cried lol, its perfect!!!!

And my boy doesnt have to wear the dreaded muzzle which he absolutely hates so much so it was ruining our relationship - - he wouldnt come to me when he lost it fearing i would put it back on, which i did because i had to - he was becoming headshy thinking his headcollar was a muzzle -

oh im so so happy and my cob is buzzing!!!!:D:D:D

All this on very cheap diy!!!!

lol cally ty - im just so so chuffed - you hear so many horror stories and my yo is the total opposite - he even supplied a huge drum and filled it with water for us bless him - this world can be very nasty but there are some dammed good people out there :D

yeahhh ! see we YO are not all monsters !! fab nice to hear some positive comments !
bless you and your cob !!

what a lovely post and caring YO ok not sure if can name yard but name YO for being so so damn good as they get so much bad press - name the yo lol :) x

We're really lucky with our yo as well, not in the least bit horsey, but if we need it, or it needs fixed, its done .
He'll also turn out or bring in or both if youre stuck, feed in the morning as well. He brings shavings onto the farm so we can get at bulk buy prices
Theyre talking of getting a horsewalker for us to keep the guys going in the winter if its icy and snowy. Really good folk and nice into the bargain

I Love My YO too....she's brilliant, she's very knowledgable and is always there when you need her (I have had a few panics where she's come up in her PJ's to check my boys with me and she's always flying up to the yard if anyone needs help with vets etc). She's a great laugh and she's very supportive of everyone on the yard in whatever they happen to be doing with their horses. Couldn't ask for a better YO, the fact that the yard is pretty cheap with great facilities just helps even more lol

ok i will spill because i can thoroughly reccomend my yo to anyone - its roundhay grange farm in leeds - yos are paul and rosie and they are both just brill :D:D:D
