Is anybody else getting bitten to pieces by the flies?

As per title really. I am sitting here scratching like a flea ridden dog. Not sure how, but they seem to have got down my breeches (and believe me there isn't much spare room in them) and my legs are covered as is my arse, arms and left ear. I have spent the day in the office shifting about on my chair as if I have piles.
Are there some particular flies about at this time of the year which feast on humans as I am completely covered, yet the horses haven't been at all? I don't have enough hands to scratch them all at once.....

Yep, I've got 3 on my tummy and 2 on my leg so how they got there goodness only knows. I feel the cold so am usually pretty well wrapped up.

However, they are biting the horses too. My cob is palamino and he has had blood on his legs where the b*****s have been biting him too. I'm already using fly repellent on his legs poor lad. Maybe I'll have to give myself a liberal squirt too!!
