I am having a mid life crisis and looking to change my career.

I am very interested in becoming a vet nurse as I think it will be really rewarding and I love animals.

What is the training? How much salary do you get and just general things about the job good and bad.

My friend is a vet nurse and is helping me out, but others advice and opinions always welcome.

Failing that, anyone have an idea where to find a very rich easy on the eye man who can keep me in the lifestyle I have yet to become accustomed to??? lol :)

Thats the same as me!!
i just did one year on a ND animal managment course but left due to the fact they didnt have a clue and i spent more time brushing and walking our teachers show dogs than actually learning anything!!
but a girl in the class was a vet nurse and she said she just applyed for the job and they took her on with the intention of paying some fees towards her getting her ND
x how unhelpful was i eh? hahaa

im a small animal vet nurse, the rcvs is in the middle of changing the way VNs are trained so your best bet is to keep an eye on the rcvs website but basically you can do a degree or work based training which includes going to college either 1 day a week or black release. you will have a clinical coach to do your at work checklists (like the portfolio)

Its a very rewarding job, i love my job seeing animals that were on deaths door fully nursed back to health.

If you need any more info feel free to PM me as im very involved in training nurses as my place
