Hi, just wondered if anyone else is struggling to find someone to share their horse.. Been advertising my boy for a few weeks after the lady who shared him for year and half had to stop.

Not had any calls????

I've decided to retire my horse who I used to have on 'share' as I had a stream of 'the wrong people' who over egged their riding abilities and messed me and the horse around; then i found a fab girl but she got a dog which has taken up more time than she thought and couldn't really afford to contribute anymore. So I give up: I don't think the right person is out there.

It is such a frustrating situation: I really sympathise with you.

I got 2 sharers from this: www.horsesharesuk.co.uk
We have also got a couple of local women who came up to us when out hacking, asked if they could come to help. There are now 6 of us who share 2 horses for mainly hacking. We draw up a rota for feeding/jobs/riding etc. It works very well.
They contribute a little each week towards keep and shoes etc. Our horse are insured on the BHS Gold member scheme.
Hope this helps!

have had a look at that website, no-one in my area.. Stroud, Gloucestershire.. It's a shame becuase of work I don't get to ride very much so he is just sitting in the field all day.. i remember when i first advertised I got so many calls, picked the best out of them and she was brill, such a shame.

Why not put an ad on newrider website? It's free and initial contact is done through website so you can decide if you want to get in touch with any replies. Time of year probably putting some people off.It is hard to get it together with right owner/sharer/horse, I agree. Good luck.

Things have got a little rocky with my new sharer and I am now having to readvertise. But it is so hard trying to get someone
