... being boring and staying in tonight because getting out to play with the horse on New Year's Day is just so much better than having a hangover?

I'm planning a lovely hack (early, to avoid the bad weather later!) at Castle Howard with a friend.

Does anyone else do anything nice with their horses on January 1st? :)
 
Ooo lovely! I am being boring and staying in with my daughter who has a horrid cold, and our new puppy. Going to pick up new horse on 2 Jan so tomorrow is set aside for all the boring jobs so i can play with new horse! :)
 
Im staying in, because im boring full stop :) Im too old these days to go out partying until late into the night, and still manage to get up at 6am to sort out the dogs / horses, so I tuck myself up in bed for 9pm. The kids have been told they can stay up as late as they want tonight, but im hoping they'll pass out around half 9 as they've been out in the fresh air today running riot!
 
I'm in tonight and have been for a few years now. After working in the hospitality trade for... well too many years, and never having NYE off..!! Me, myself and I and the T.V remote with a glass or two of my favorite tipple is a blast..! :) plus I can fall into my own bed and will be up to spend time with my Ollie tomorrow..

Staying in as being sober in the company of drunks makes me want to commit violence, which is difficult from a wheelchair, unless I go for a carefully aimed groin punch! I will be shoving this year out the back door with a very small glass of shampoo come 12 bells! Enjoy all!
 
Yes! At the BFs on the cola lol :) not a big drinker anyway. I don't drive though, so the BF is drinking a little less than normal and we'll be walking to the yard in the morning :) and he even said he'd walk along side if I decide to hack out (I haven't told him if I do he'll be eating dust on the bridle path lol :-P)

I'm staying in and I'm only 23 and single

To "do" clubs etc I like to be fairly merry as hate being around drunk people sober but that would mean I would haveto rely on lifts or taxis in the morning to the yard as would probably be over the limit

It's also so expensive the money will be better spent on the vet's bill for sedating t*t for clipping again this month!

Everyone on my fb seems to be out and getting completely trashed...

Feel like a saddo lol
 
I'm in tonight, OH working, 2 kids in bed already but I'm far too tight to pay for baby sitter/taxi/stupid entry prices etc and having more than a year off alcohol with baby I'd be silly drunk and wanting my bed after a glass or two anyway

The boys will wecome an ealy hangovr free turn out!
 
Thank goodness I'm not the only one...looking forward to early hack in the morning with a clear head. Taxi service for daughter later then off to bed.
 
I'm being boring and sitting in front of the tv with the dogs, a pizza and a tub of ice cream :) then tomorrow I'm off to Fakenham racecourse with my favorite horse from work for his first run over hurdles :D very excited!!
 
l'm the same just staying in with family. l'm content because l'll be road legal drinkwise so can enjoy a new years ride. l've gone out in the past but l
know alot of people are staying in l think for some places tickets are required - so that one thing l won't need or the taxi fare home which is expensive these days!!!

for the last 10 years minimum I have stayed in, normally go to bed around 10.30 fall asleep woken up by hubby seen the chimes of big Ben wish happy new year to hubby turn light off go to sleep. Other years go to sleep and sleep through new year.


It bores me now - hate champagne - find the whole thing OTP. to morrow just another day like today - just the same.



I'm boring i know but there isnt anything to celebrate around this time.
 
Really wish I was staying in! Absolutely hate going out and having to socialise! I don't drink either. Be glad when I'm home again.
 
Long day at work. Daughter just opened a bottle so I've sneaked a glass and opened a new box of Christmas chocolates. Bliss. Will be fast asleep by ten latest
 
We're staying at home and had a lovely meal and champagne. Now in front of the fire, watching Mr Bean on tv.

We've seen all our friends and family over Christmas and since the smoking ban there's little point in going to a pub just for a drink.
 
another boring one staying in, i am not feeling the love for festivities, my horse was pts on fri 13th :( and today is a bad day realising i am not going into the new year with him . this time last year i was out on the razzle then on new years day we were hacking and being photographed for a calender riding through the river, lovely memories but so tinged with sadness :'(

Its amazing how these gracious animals affect our lives so much. Sorry for your loss
 
I'm staying in alone as my husband is working so I've got popcorn and choice of movies. Plus I want to keep my eye on the flood in the yard not that I can do anything but watch it rise!
 
I'm in...OH is working for the second NYE running but I'm boring anyway....my clubbing years are well over.
Having a glass of red watching Indiana Jones....kids staying up, have agreed son can have a lager later.
Still be up and seeing to horses by 7am....get all chores done and ride out later :)
 
Another one staying in. Stuffed myself with a Chinese and will enjoy a few G&T's with my OH. My little boy has had a chest, ear and throat infection since Christmas day and has been sleeping badly. He is finally on the mend so we are realy hoping 2014 will start with a decent nights kip.
