Is anyone else's horse really really itchy at the mo?

Hanging about for the (late) farriers today, I noticed that both my boys were super-itchy and also nipping at their flanks a bit. Out came the trusty Zoom-Groom brush and both horses nearly fell over sideways in their attempts to get the full force of the scratching! Chestnut also attempted to scratch his bottom on me as I groomed the grey

They are also shedding - I guess this means that the winter woolies are on their way... And not really any sign of summer so far... Sigh...

Is anyone else acting as a full time scratching post or just me?!

Yep, the nights are drawing in so they will start to change their coats as they respond to the levels of sunlight.

George is always itchy in summer as he has mild sweet itch. It could be the changing of the coat that is making them itchy, or maybe the dampness.
