It seems everyone I know that has horses that are being wappy at the moment! I rode Hattie out on a hack yesterday and she was spooking at the most mundane of things, things she has seem a million times without batting an eye! Then my friend was schooling her ned this morning and he kept shying at everything today and then another friend rode by my field and her horse was off it's rocker too!

Is it just horses in my neck of the woods that are wappy or is it a national thing at the moment?

yes i rode over to denham country park and OMG the big leave was going to eat him and the blade of grass.

it was very amusing ride tho, even my mums cob who is as sound as apond decided it was to scary.

Bella was being a total loon on Wednesday

I put it down to being windy and being in a new field with some grass

She doesn't do standing still at the best of times (only a baby) but she was impossible so gave up trying to groom her and turned her back out instead

Yes my boy has been like it for the last couple of months come to think of it, evening when in the schooling spooking at ....well nothing, I don't mind it if something has actually made them jump or there is something strange lurking in the long grass, he's used to the chickens roaming and flapping about, used the pet sheep sticking their heads through the school fence so he's doesn't bother with any of that but if someone happens to walk up to watch while we are riding the other way and then come back across the school....he's like oh my god, those people were not there before and is genuinely freighted of riding past them, well eye on stalks anyway and huffing and puffing and blowing himself up!

He's got realy nearvy streak in him at the moment and he hates it when I leave him tied up for a minute if I'm going into my tack room.....such a big baby

The saddler came yesterday to do a refit and likes to see them ridden. The ned just bronced and bucked, did the splits 6ft in the air

oh they love to show you up in front of important people don't they, they have a knack of having such great timing!

My lad did that, while the saddle fitter guy looked on in horror and shimmed back towards the fence, he looked amazed that I was going to risk getting on after his fine wild west rodeo display lol

I had to lunge him for 10 minutes just to get the 'fresh' of him, he's said he'd come back in a bit

Zoom is the nuttiest mare in the world. My poor friend had the saddler for hers and offered to get Zoom's checked too. Silly me, I forgot to leave a bridle. she had to trot up and down on a mad pony she has never sat on in a headcollar with two leadropes attached!

Luckily she managed to stay on!

must be something to do with saddlers... mine deposited me quite painfully (ambulance job) when the saddler was out having never bucked before, then when the kind man offered to ride him for me two weeks later to check the saddle again he deposited him!!

I'm putting it down to spring grass!!!
