I don't know if you saw my post on AD's post yesterday, but I saw an Ad in our local feed merchants yesterday...

15 month old Springer Spaniel Dog. Free

What's the betting the thing won't recall, chews their house up and knocks their children over, but was such a cute puppy and it gets plenty of exercise... well the dog down the road does ok on 10 minutes a day so it must be plenty!

And who's going to ring up about it?? Someone who fancies a free dog and doesn;t have a clue! Give it a couple of months and the thing will have had at least 3 more homes

I was very tempted to ring up! In fact, I still am!

If that wee girl wasn't several hours away, I couldn't guarantee that she wouldn't be sitting in my living room tonight.

But then I would be rewarding the numpty who decided to buy a living creature as a present for someone he doesn't know well enough to know that she wouldn't want it

It's on the ads bit in Countrywide Gloucester near the checkouts, I won't be going there until the weekend and given that it's free I guess it will be gone by then. I knew I should have taken down the number!

So? Don't you think it is a good idea with strong dogs, that looks like a wolf dog and possibly have the brain of a Doberman, surely they must be UNIQUE!

And since it is unique they want £400, each I presume

. Besides wondering what use a Doberman - Wolf dog cross fulfills, I wonder if the Doberman parent is HD scored, they can also have the blood disorder Von Willebrands and a few other things, my cynical side says that most likely, the breeder doesn't think they need to check such things when they're breeding innate healthy crossbreeds but if the genes carried by the Doberman ''match'' the genes carried by the wolf dog...

i doubt the breeder will have the brains (or morals) to tell the buyers that wolfdogs or crosses have to be registered under the dangerous animals act and you need a license to keep one

Unless they mean it is a Czech wolfdog or some of the non KC-recognised breeds and mixes which are bred to 'look like wolves' and do not need a licence.

i googled the number (had to go back to shop today to collect feed so i took it down) they breed czech wolfdogs so im guessing they are

I'm hoping, if they are 'responsible breeders' that the dobe was 'caught'?
In fairness the wolfydog people seem to be very hot on hips and elbows but I still think this is a flipping stupid cross for all the reasons mentioned above....
