as title really! i need to have a wisdom tooth out and just wondering what the procedure is? my dentist said i wouldn't need a GA but surely he can't do this under just a local?!!!

my friend is a dental nurse, i was really scared when I had to have 2 taken out, She assured my it was a simple procedure,

It was fine (and im a right wuss) just quite a bit off blood afterwards so keep the cotton wool inplace and take some pain killers before you go lol

I presume your dentist has taken an x ray showing the offending wisdom tooth/teeth? If he says you do not need a GA or Sedation then he has evidence there are no complications with the roots of the tooth/teeth. Good Luck & if you feel you need at least sedation rather than in patient hospital treatment (& very long waiting list) our clinics can help you.

Had 4 removed, one hurt a lot but the other 3 were totally fine and last one had to be drilled and cut into smaller pieces (it was totally horizontal and couldn't have been removed otherwise). Still, did all 4 with the normal jab - and I am a wimp!
 
ooh...so i can be sedated then? presume that means i'm a bit more out of it but not 'under' like i would be with a GA? not really wanting a GA (only ever had one once) but i don't like dentist noises so sedation might be better for me.....yes have had an ray- dentist thinks it will come out easy enough

Had two out so far,have to wait for the other two to errupt enough to get at then they have to go too

One was a stight forward,easy extraction that took all of 5 seconds,the other was impacted and pretty much as bad an extration as you can get.
How much detail do you really want?

FWIW,I would have it out again without a second thought,so much better once it's done!
